Garnier BB cream review

by - August 29, 2016

Hey beauties, how are you doing? Today I'm doing a review on Garnier's (Oily Free) Miracle skin perfector BB cream. I'm very glad I'm doing it because this product is something I've used for a year which is quite a long time. I love sharing my experience with you and I hope it will help some of you who are twice thinking weather you should buy this product and give it a try or skip it. I'll share with you pros and cons as well as how it works on my skin. So before I start, I need to mentioned that I have combined skin. Oily in T-zone and dry everywhere else. I much prefer using BB creams over foundations because they are lighter and easier on skin. I get few spots once in awhile which I manage to get rid of thanks to my current skincare routine and few products which work magically (secret weapon). If you want to see that, let me know in comments.

I've chosen light shade and let me start from there. It is not light. In my opinion that should be called Medium shade and if you searched for more reviews, I'm sure you came across at least one blogger that complains on the same thing. When I first used it, I had ''the famous neck line'' which everyone hates but then when you blend it nicely down to your neck, it's fine. Now I even prefer that it's a bit darker because it gives healthy looking color to my skin considering the fact that I can look quite pale sometimes. So to continue with cons, I'd say that lasting of this bb cream is not more then 5 hours with good amount of coverage. Later on, it gets quite transparent. But then again, is this really a con for a BB cream? Probably not, considering BB creams are light coverage liquids.

Let's move on to all great things about this BB cream. First I'd like to write about the perfect formula. When you apply it on your face, it's very hydrating, very light, you don't even feel that you're wearing it. As it dries it gives out matte finish (at least Oily free one does and classic one doesn't). Which is perfect in my opinion. As the day goes, I get a bit shiny here and there but it doesn't really matter. I try to wear it on daily bases (when I do wear a makeup which is not every single day) because I don't like to irritate my skin with high coverage foundations and not letting it breathe. When I apply it, I don't use anything else, no setting powder but rarely I'd use concealer for my under eye circles and maybe if I need more coverage on spots. Coverage - medium to full coverage. If you apply two coats you get full (foundation) coverage. I personally like to do just one layer and it works really well.

This is what the product claims to do:
  • A combination of Hyaluronic Acid, Lipidure Microspheres + Glycerin retains water in the skin, allowing it to maintain superior moisture levels and improve softness and suppleness of skin for 24hours.
  • Vitamin C provides antioxidant properties, boosts radiance and luminosity of skin.
  • Mineral Pigments delicately and immediately beautiful skin. The rich pigments instantly melt and spread flawlessly over skin.

  • I've tried few BB creams and this one worked best for me. It doesn't break me out. It feels nicely on skin - doesn't irritate it at all. If you have oily/acne prone skin, it will really work great for you as it did for me. Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you prefer using BB creams or foundations.

    1. I love this! I have a medium to use in summer when I get a nice tan and a light to use in winter, and I agree with you, the light is not light at all, it's a lighter shade of medium but if someone is fair, they may find it difficult to match their skin. Great review!

    12. I'm yet to experiment with BB creams very much, though their lightweight quality is definitely a plus point. Having said that, I tend to either wear foundation or nothing at all on my skin (total opposites?! haha). Have a lovely week :)

    18. I'm glad this worked for you! I tried the normal one and found it too oily for my skin, so I tried the oil free one and found it just clogged my pores :( It's a shame as it had everything I needed in a BB cream! I'm using another brand at the moment.

      1. This one for sure doesn't although I have to admit that not every bb cream is as promising. A lot of them are poor quality and can break you out, but it's not case with this one. :)

    20. This sounds like a great product but it's a shame that the light is too dark. I'm quite pale so I can't imagine that it would be good for me. Hopefully they'll release new shades!
